She took a sip of her drink and said “Tell what you dream of”.
He said “I am standing on a platform in the middle of the sea. On the platform is a music stand, and on the stand is the most complex piece of music I have ever seen. There is a note attached, it reads, “for every note that you sing flat a shark will come and take a bite from your left leg. For every note you sing sharp a killer whale will take a bite from your right leg”. I take a deep breath, ready to start singing and wake up in a cold sweat”.
She frowned when she heard this and said “No. I meant “dream house” or “dream car or dream job”.
He swallowed his drink and they sat there in dreadful awkward silence.
